FAQ

Questions families often ask.

If you don't see your question here, we'd be glad to talk it through.

What makes Fairfield Companion Care different?

Many home care agencies focus heavily on household tasks. We focus first on companionship, connection, and meaningful relationships. While caregivers can assist with select household tasks during visits, our primary purpose is helping older adults stay socially connected, emotionally supported, and engaged with life.

What does a typical visit look like?

Most visits center on conversation, shared activities, and time spent together, a walk, a card game, reading the paper, looking at old photos, a lunch outing, or accompanying your loved one to an appointment. Light household help can fit in naturally around that.

Are your caregivers the same people each visit?

Whenever possible, yes. Familiarity and trust matter deeply in companion care, so we prioritize consistency. We thoughtfully match each client with a caregiver, and a small backup team, based on personality, interests, and schedule.

Do you provide medical or nursing care?

No. Fairfield Companion Care is a non-medical, Connecticut-licensed Homemaker-Companion Agency. We do not provide skilled nursing, medical care, physical therapy, medication administration, wound care, or other clinical services.

Can you help with dementia or memory loss?

Yes. Our Memory-Friendly Companion Care focuses on familiarity, patience, routine, and engagement that feels grounding rather than overwhelming. We work alongside families and any medical providers already involved.

What areas do you serve?

We serve communities across Fairfield County, Connecticut, including Westport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Weston, and Trumbull.

How do we get started?

Reach out for a Family Consultation. It's an unhurried conversation about your loved one's situation, what kind of companionship would feel right, and how we might help. There's no pressure to commit to anything.
